아래 메일은 Journal of Medical Engineering and Physics 의 Guest-Editor인 Dr. Slavik Tabakov 가 WC2006 조직위원회 앞으로 보낸 것입니다. 내용을 읽어보시면 아시겠지만, 해당 Journal에 "e-Learning in??Medical Engineering and Physics"를 주제로 paper를 받고 있는데, 우리나라에서도 이 분야에 대해 관심을 가지고 있는 분들이 계시면 paper를 제출해 주시길 요청하고 있습니다. 논문 제출하기를 희망하시는 분들은 2월 말까지 Dr. Slavik Tabakov(slavik.tabakov@kcl.ac.uk)에게 제출여부를 알려주셔야 하고, 논문 제출 시기는 2004년 중반이 될 예정이라고 합니다. Dear Colleagues, First of all thank you for your wonderful New Year cards and warm greetings. May I also wish you a Good and Prosperous New Year and very successful preparations for our WC2006 ! The reason to write you is related with the fact that a month ago I was asked by the Journal of Medical Engineering and Physics (JMBE) to be Guest-Editor of one supplementary issue of JMBE on e-Learning in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics. You know that I am working on this subject for many years (projects EMERALD and EMIT) and am passionate to further develop this valuable activity in our profession. The objective of this special issue will be to collect various activities on e-Learning in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics, which will be used as a valuable source for supporting our professional education/training around the world and will encourage development of other such programs in MEP. In principle the papers should be of the order of 4-to-8 pages in the Journal (I shall send details soon), but I would have some freedom as well. I plan to collect all presentations for this issue by mid-2004 and the issue to go out of print somewhere mid-2005.??The Journal (which you know well) has a good impact factor for our field and is published by Elsevier. At WC2003 we discussed with Prof. Suh and Dr Park an eventual Satellite Workshop on Education/Training during WC2006, and I believe that a contribution from Korea for JMEP will be a good start for this.??I do not know well the Korean education/training programs for Medical Engineering and Medical Physics, but perhaps you have experience in this field. As an example such contribution could be a short description of a course (or a module from a course) using specially made computer simulations, training programmes or distance learning tools (like Internet delivery of short courses, etc.). It also could be a combined paper from several institutions or countries, describing jointly planned, developed or implemented activities related e-Learning. I am now collecting expressions of interest and will be very happy to consider a paper from Korea. Please drop me a line at your earliest convenience (but not later than the end of February.
